July 30, 2026 – Our nursery received a fresh new look thanks to the enthusiastic Interns from the Ministry of Agriculture’s Summer Internship Programme!

As the students wrapped up their time at the GARD Center, Executive Director Mrs. June Jackson took the opportunity to share a message that went beyond the day’s activities.

Mrs. Jackson reminded the young interns that agriculture is not simply about working in a field or learning a trade; it is about being equipped to provide for yourself, creating opportunities and building a future.

She encouraged them to continue learning, explore the many opportunities available in agriculture, and recognize that the skills and experiences they gain today can become part of their future tomorrow.

The interns spent the day painting the nursery and left a lasting impression through their teamwork, energy, and positive attitudes. When asked to reflect on their experience, they described the day as “fun,” “amazing,” “relaxing,” “unforgettable,” and even “transformative.”

Their visit was a wonderful reminder of the importance of giving young people opportunities to gain practical experience, discover new interests, and understand the many possibilities within agriculture.

At the GARD Center, we remain committed to educating, empowering, and inspiring young people to see agriculture not only as an industry, but as a pathway to independence, opportunity and a sustainable future.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture for including the GARD Center in this year’s Summer Internship Programme and applaud the interns for their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve. Their efforts have helped enhance our nursery while demonstrating the valuable role young people can play in agriculture.
