The GARD Center 4th Farm to Table 2018

Preparations for the 2018, 4th Annual Farm to Table Benefit Luncheon are on their way with the major sponsor, the James and Maginley Charity and Care Foundation launching the event with a check of $13,700  presented to Mrs. Roberta Williams, Executive Director on March 9th, 2018. Mrs. Williams addressed those in attendance promising them that the farm to table product this year will be even better, thanks to the foundation who has supported this event for three years. Several new executive chefs are on board this year from Sandals Grande Antigua Resort, Trade Winds, and Flavos/the Ranch restaurant. Mrs. Williams also welcomed back and thanked Curtain Bluff, Carlisle Bay, Jumby Bay Resort and Goddard Catering. A special thank you was expressed to Goddard Catering for increasing their involvement this year in the areas of menu planning, organization of the chefs and site layout.
This event also has strong support by agricultural producers who supply the produce that will be turned into creative dishes by the hands of the professional chefs. Many thanks to the Agricultural Extension Division for organizing the Farm component. The Fisheries Division, yes they will be back again with their mouth watering seafood delights to sample, as well as the fish catch for the main menu. The Ministry of Tourism and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority have again offered their assistance in a number of ways particularly in helping to promote this event.
His Excellency, the Governor General, Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Williams have graciously accepted once again to be Patrons of this event and continue to support the Center’s fund raising efforts for its programs and services for vulnerable young men and women.
